You are on this list because you will be attending (or are planning to) attend next week's activity on the deployment and configuration of a Ganeti virtualization cluster for DrukREN. Your email was provided by Karma Jamyang (Cc:). Please let us know if you think you shouldn't be on this list. We'll be starting the training on Monday afternoon. I'll be sending a link with materials and labs, which are still being updated. The activity will be split into three parts: 1. Hands-on Ganeti training (see links below) 2. DrukREN Ganeti cluster deployment - Installation and configuration of Ganeti on the DrukREN servers - Configuration of the network equipment used to connect the servers (nodes) together, and to DrukREN 3. Deploying and configuring services on the cluster - Installation and configuration of virtual machines to implement DrukREN services: - DNS service (authoritative/recursive) - NMS (Network Management System): LibreNMS - NOC and Network documentation: NetDot, Rancid, TFTP, syslog-ng It is assumed that you have the following basic knowledge: * Linux/UNIX CLI administration * Knowledge of L2 and L3 networking on IP networks (VLANs, IP addressing & routing basics) * Some basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware/KVM/VirtualBox) ***************************************************************** * Please bring your laptop to the training! A tablet/smartphone * * is not sufficient as there will be a lot of typing involved! * ***************************************************************** If you want an idea of the materials we'll be covering, here are two of our earlier cloud/virtualization trainings we've held: https://nsrc.org/workshops/2016/sanog27/wiki/Track2Virt Days 3-4-5 are most relevant, but you can also look at the first days covering Desktop Virtualization if you aren't familiar with this. The materials are currently being updated for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, which we'll be using for this activity. If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to write back! See you all next week!
