[GamChix] WORKSHOP WEBINAR ENCRYPTION AND ROLE OF CSIRTS

Fellow members of Gamchix,


It's been quite a while and I must admit I miss you all. Hope you are all
keeping safe? It's been a very difficult year I know. But I'm following
activities in the background and I am quite inspired by the energy moving
this group and the support you continue to give school girls out there.
Keep the fire burning!


That said, This year, as part of the Internet Society’s 2020 / 2021 action
plan to strengthen the Internet by extending encryption, ISOC Gambia
chapter wanted to hold a regional Workshop just like Afchix 2017 focusing
on Security - Encryption. ofcourse with the key players AfNOG / AfricaCERT
and ISOC Global. But,  due to Papa COVID, we could not roll this.


But, instead, we move it online as a webinar / online workshop on
Encryption with discussion on the role of CSIRTs in supporting,
implementing, and promoting end-to-end encryption to ensure a secure and
trustworthy Cyberspace.



The Theme is *"ENCRYPTION AND ROLE OF CSIRTs IN OUR* *NATIONAL ECONOMY &
CYBER SPACE" *



*This is a call at the right time as Our Economy, Our Financial
transactions, Our Health sector, Our politics, Our Media, and even our
social lives increasingly become dependent on the Internet. *




This will be an interactive Webinar/workshop with Expert Trainers and
speakers:



1. Mr. *Robin Wilton <https://www.internetsociety.org/author/wilton/>:
**Internet
Society’s Senior Advisor for Internet Trust - a specialist in online
privacy and digital identity *who will only speak on ENCRYPTION.



2. Mr. Marcus Adomey, Senior Trainer at AfricaCERT
<https://www.africacert.org/> will take us through *What CSIRTs are*,
The *CSIRT
Ecosystem in Africa* and the world, and then, the role CSIRTs play in
promoting ENCRYPTION as the Theme above goes. Most of you know Marcus as
one of our "Gamgents" since 2017 :)



*TARGET PARTICIPANTS:*  Cyber Security enthusiasts, Network Engineers,
System Admins, Developers, E-commerce Site Managers, Financial
institutions, Security Services, Computer Science students, Journalists etc.
