Please read this mail all the way to the end! This is a 3 day, hands-on technical workshop on the deployment of Monitoring and Management tools for Network Operations. Below you will find the URL with detailed information about the contents of the workshop, including a schedule with the different sessions that will be held during the week. PREPARATION ----------- A bit of homework :) We would like to prepare one slide (just 1!) for the workshop, which will be used for you to introduce yourself and your colleague (if you are 2), and describe in a few sentences your Network Operations Center (NOC): - what tools do you use ? - what services do you offer ? - how many people are involved ? - how do you deal with requests from users/technicians ? Any topoology diagrams are useful, but not strictly required. WORKSHOP PREREQUISITES ---------------------- *** REMINDER ************************************************************** * You must bring your own laptop computer or tablet, with a WiFi access, * * to be able to participate in this workshop. * *************************************************************************** Small tablets with no physical keyboard are NOT adequate as there will be a lot of typing involved. We'll be using SSH to connect to the class infrastructure. As systems/network engineers, we assume you have working knowledge of the command line (UNIX/Linux). If needed we may schedule a short session on using the UNIX/Linux CLI.
