Assunto: [UC-2019-nsrc-noc-ws] Welcome to the UbuntuConnect 2019 NSRC NOC	Workshop mailing list

Hello!

[version française disponible sur demande]

You are receiving this mail as you are a registered participant
for the upcoming UbuntuNet Connect NSRC NREN NOC Workshop, taking place
next week (October 28-30), in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

Please read this mail all the way to the end!

This is a 3 day, hands-on technical workshop on the deployment of
Monitoring and Management tools for Network Operations.

Below you will find the URL with detailed information about the contents
of the workshop, including a schedule with the different sessions that
will be held during the week.

PREPARATION
-----------

A bit of homework :)

We would like to prepare one slide (just 1!) for the workshop, which
will be used for you to introduce yourself and your colleague (if you
are 2), and describe in a few sentences your Network Operations Center
(NOC):

- what tools do you use ?
- what services do you offer ?
- how many people are involved ?
- how do you deal with requests from users/technicians ?

Any topoology diagrams are useful, but not strictly required.

WORKSHOP PREREQUISITES
----------------------

*** REMINDER **************************************************************
* You must bring your own laptop computer or tablet, with a WiFi access, *
* to be able to participate in this workshop. *

Small tablets with no physical keyboard are NOT adequate as there will be a
lot of typing involved. We'll be using SSH to connect to the class
infrastructure.

As systems/network engineers, we assume you have working knowledge of the
command line (UNIX/Linux). If needed we may schedule a short session on
using the UNIX/Linux CLI.
